If you think you might be able to help out in any way with the activities of the Group, be it with maintenance or fundraising, then please contact our Chairman Andrew Duffett to get more details of what's involved.
WELCOME to the 2nd Guernsey Scout Group's website - please feel free to click and explore.
WEDNESDAY 2 to SUNDAY 6 OCTOBER: SKIPTON SWIMARATHON AT BEAU SEJOUR – the Group has once again been asked to provide lap counters. As you can appreciate this is a very labour-intensive exercise, but quite effortless for those actually doing it (just a click on a counting device as each swimmer completes a lap – 2 lengths of the pool). If you (or relatives/friends) are able to give up a couple of hours to help out then it would be very much appreciated. The times are: Wednesday: 7pm to 9pm; Thursday: 6pm to 9pm; Friday: 9am to 9pm; Saturday: 9am to 9pm; Sunday: 9am to 12noon
For those of you who have helped out in previous years, we hope you will offer your time once again. For those who are new to this, please don’t be daunted, it is really very easy! You could maybe choose a time when your child, family member, work colleague, etc. is swimming. The boys and girls of the Group are more than welcome to come along to help out as well but in the instance of the younger sections, i.e. Beavers, Cubs and younger Scouts, we would ask that they be supervised by an adult, as a fair bit of concentration is required.
Could you please complete and return this form indicating the time(s) that you are able to help. Please put your name down for more than one session if you are able to! Alternatively you can email Pat Barker. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT HELPERS ARRIVE IN THE POOL AREA AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE EACH SESSION TO ENSURE CONTINUITY.
