Many congratulations to all of the leaders and supporters who received awards at Government House. A great achievement and it would be interesting to know how many young people’s lives have been influenced by these leaders and you all, something we will never know.
Congratulations also to Matthew and Andrew on receiving the Chief Scouts Gold Award
THANK YOU to all who attended the Group Annual General Meeting.
One important issue that came out of that meeting was that the Group needs new members to join the Executive Committee - this is not too onerous a task, and any help that parents or friends of the Group are able to provide would be appreciated
If you think you might be able to help out in any way with the activities of the Group, be it with maintenance or fundraising, then please contact our Chairman Andrew Duffett to get more details of what's involved.
Once again our annual Bonfire Party was spectacular - thank you to all who helped in any way, no matter how small. See you all again next year!
It would be appreciated if all outstanding subscriptions could be paid promptly. Contact us if you have a problem

Dear Parents, Guardians and Guests,
The 2nd Guernsey Scout Group are pleased to inform you that the Annual General Meeting (the “AGM”) will be held at the Wayfarer Centre on Friday, 19 May 2017 at 7:00 pm.
Proceedings are expected to last approximately half an hour to deal with the formalities of the meeting, thereafter providing the opportunity to view the Group’s Annual Accounts, the minutes of the 2016 AGM and section leader reports.
As parents or guardians your attendance would especially be appreciated by those who dedicate their time to ensuring that your child gets to fully enjoy the Scouting experience and all the life skills they acquire on that journey. It is also your opportunity to find out what the leaders and the executive committee have been doing on your child’s behalf.
Inevitably there are changes to the members of all organisations and we would welcome any parent who would be interested in joining as either; an assistant to the leaders, an executive committee member, a support member or a helper at fundraising events. If you feel that you would be interest in volunteering then please let us know at the AGM.
Please remember that we need your support to ensure that the leaders may continue to provide the best possible scouting experience to your child and we look forward to meeting you at the AGM.
Thank you to those who helped at the Skipton Swimarathon, your support is appreciated.
